Invention of Steam Engine

Why was James Watt's steam engine a milestone in world history? James Watt was a Scottish engineer and inventor, and one of the most important contributors to the Industrial Revolution. He is best known for making major improvements to the steam engine. The steam engine was actually built for the first time in 1698 by Thomas Savery, but it was Watt who improved it in the 1800s and made it really useful. In Watt's steam engine, steam output and engine speed work control. Watt's steam engine offers a powerful source that could be located almost everywhere. In the late 1760s, Watt world with the inventor John Roebuck, and an engineer, Matthew Boulton. They made steam engines for canal, coal mines, and mills. For the mid-1800s today early 1900s, steam engine power machines ran factories, trains, and even huge ship. Watt's steam engine dominated industry and transportation for 150 years.

Why was 1853 a historic year for India?  April 16, 1853, was a historical day in India. It was on this day that the first passenger train service was introduced between Bori Bunder Bombay and Thane. The train with 14 railway carriages, caring around 400 guests, left Bori Bunder at 3:30 p.m. that day. It was drawn by three engines, and covered a total distance of 33 kilometres in 57 minutes. Railways were developed in India first by British East India company, and later, by the British government mainly to transport troops for their war, and secondly, to transport cotton for export to mills in UK. Since then, the Indian railway has grown to become the largest rail network in Asia today. It is also the world's second-largest network operated under single management. Indian railway has 115,000 km of track length, and runs 12,617 trains carrying over 23 million passengers daily, connecting more than 7,112 stations. It is indeed amazing to think it all begin...

The Gutenberg Bible

                 THE GUTENBERG BIBLE What is the importance of the printing of the Gutenberg Bible? The invention of Gutenberg printing press is considered to be one of the most important inventions of all time. In 1455,  Gutenberg demonstrated the power of the printing press by selling copies of a tow-volume Bible, known as  Gutenberg Bible. Each pages of the book has book had 42 lines. The paper was handmade, and each page contain a watermark. At first, 180 copies were made, most of them on paper, although some were printed on vellum, a kind of parchment. The printed Bible proved quite popular, and the stock was quickly sold out. The Gutenberg Bible was the first major book printed using mass produced movable type. This made it significantly cheaper than handwritten Bible. The Gutenberg Bible signalled the start of Gutenberg Revolution, which let to the age of the Printed Books.
