Why was James Watt's steam engine a milestone in world history?





James Watt was a Scottish engineer and inventor, and one of the most important contributors to the Industrial Revolution.

He is best known for making major improvements to the steam engine. The steam engine was actually built for the first time in 1698 by Thomas Savery, but it was Watt who improved it in the 1800s and made it really useful. In Watt's steam engine, steam output and engine speed work control.

Watt's steam engine offers a powerful source that could be located almost everywhere. In the late 1760s, Watt world with the inventor John Roebuck, and an engineer, Matthew Boulton. They made steam engines for canal, coal mines, and mills.

For the mid-1800s today early 1900s, steam engine power machines ran factories, trains, and even huge ship.

Watt's steam engine dominated industry and transportation for 150 years.
