Description: Tigers are a category of cats. They are the largest of all the cats. They are powerful hunters that eat pigs, deer, and even young elephant s. Sadly, their numbers are falling because their habitat is being destroyed and people are killing them for their fur and bones.   Sharp Teeth: The pointed teeth near the front of the tiger's mouth are about 2 inches (5.08 cm) long. They are called canine teeth. Tigers use their canine teeth to stab and grip their prey.   Siberian Tigers: Siberian tigers are the largest of all the tigers. Siberian tigers have a thicker coat than other tigers because they have to live in very cold conditions.   Bengal Tigers: Bengal's tigers have white fur with pale stripes. Opening Of Suez Canal

Why was the opening of Suez Canal a historic event?  The Suez Canal is a manmade canal in Egypt, connecting the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea, through the Isthmus of Suez. Earlier, ships sailing between Europe and South had to make a long and dangerous voyager all the way around the tip of Africa. The opening of the Suez  Canal in 1869, changed all that. Ships could now go directly between the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea through the canal. This 193 km long waterway reduced the sea voyage distance between Europe and South Asia by 7000km. The Suez is the longest canal in the world without locks- and the safest too. To sum up, the Suez Canal is the shortest sea link between the east and the west, due to its unique geographic location.
